India: Telangana mother drove 1400 Km (868 miles) to bring home trapped son – due to lockdown

A mother’s love knows no bounds. Single mother, Rajia Begum, a government school teacher, drove 1400 km on her scooty!

Her younger son Mohammed Nizamuddin coaches at the Narayana Medical College, Hyderabad. He had a family emergency due to which he had to drop a friend in Nellore, Andra Pradesh. However, the nationwide lockdown was imposed during this time, leaving him stuck there.

Rajia Begum took matter in her own hands and requested a special permission letter by meeting with her local Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP). She was stopped several times during her three day journey but managed to convince police personnel. She successfully brought her son back to their hometown in Bodhan, Nizzamabad district, Telangana.
